Jeri joined TradeMoves in May 2021 as Senior Trade Advisor, Global Trade Management. She brings 20+ years of operational and legal expertise in global trade. With a career that began as a customs broker in the port of New York, Jeri has pursued her passion to give high-level, strategic advice to importers and exporters.
During her in-house roles with pharmaceutical and textile companies, Jeri has specialized in product classification, valuation, internal audits and the commercial application of free trade agreements. She aided executive teams by setting up ACE accounts to analyze trade data and developed compliance metrics to optimize margins and mitigate operational risk. Working at a multi-national pharmaceutical company, she achieved an 80% customs fine mitigation rate and traveled to the UK to develop the trade compliance program and train senior management and the supply chain department.

As a consultant, Jeri has provided strategic advice to a wide range of clients including Fortune 500 companies such as Monsanto, Energizer and Playtex. She gained experience successfully guiding clients through the CTPAT and ISA processes. She has extensive experience working with regulatory agencies such as FDA and USDA and developing import and export procedures as well as policy manuals.
Jeri has been a licensed Customs Broker since 1999 and a licensed attorney since 2004. She received her BS in Biology from Emory University in Atlanta and her JD from the University of North Carolina School of Law at Chapel Hill. She lives in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina with her husband, two teenage children and the family dog and turtle.
