Leonardo Boccalon
Senior International Trade Analyst
Leonardo joined TradeMoves in June 2021 as an International Trade Analyst. In this role he is responsible for supporting firm-wide activities in tariff and tax intelligence, import requirements, regulatory trade procedures, trade news monitoring, and client relevant research.
Prior to joining TradeMoves, Leonardo spent two years at the Embassy of Venezuela for the United States. While at the diplomatic mission he represented the Interim Government of Juan Guaidó as an Economic and Commercial Affairs analyst. In 2020, Leonardo graduated from the George Washington University Elliott School with a B.A. in International Affairs (Concentrations: International Development & International Economics) and a Minor in Business Administration. During his undergraduate education, he had the privilege of spending 5 months in Cameroon conducting research on SME development and the saliency of industrial reform on the agricultural processing sector. Additionally, his time in the West African country focused on understanding the process of modernization and social change taking place. |
Leonardo completed his Masters of Science in International Business at the GWU School of Business in May 2022. Looking ahead, he seeks to cultivate the management and quantitative skills essential to stimulate private sector development in emerging nations.
Leonardo has a strong interest in bridging the cultural, trade, and development gaps that persist among emerging markets and the rest of the world. Over the past 15 years living in Venezuela, Colombia, and the United States and devoting his efforts to foster an internationally focused education and career, Leonardo brings to TradeMoves his passion to link emerging nations with foreign opportunities.
