Shawn Marie Jarosz
Founder & Chief Trade Strategist
Shawn is the founder of TradeMoves and the company’s Chief Trade Strategist. Her tenure in international trade spans nearly 25 years managing global sourcing/ supply and customs issues on behalf of US companies of all sizes and trade priorities for US industry associations.
Shawn found her calling in international business overseas where she worked in Moscow for the US Embassy and then Amoco Eurasia Petroleum Company. After leaving Russia, she worked for Chrysler Corporation’s DC office supporting efforts to gain market access for American-made products.

Shawn later joined International Trade Advisors LLC (ITA), where she managed trans-Atlantic trade and public affairs issues for US and European clients including Volvo, Estée Lauder, and Mars, Inc. At ITA’s US parent company, International Trade Services Corporation (ITSC), Shawn developed tools and resources to help clients with strategic sourcing and supply decisions.
Shawn credits her love of trade to the accomplished trade-guru women she worked with throughout her career including Lisa Maher of Chrysler, Marietta Bernot of ITSC, and Mary Latimer of Mars. Inspired by the entrepreneurial streak in her family, she launched TradeMoves in 2006 to continue serving clients in the processed food and consumer product sectors on their global trade priorities and initiatives. Shawn is honored to have served her three anchor clients for more than twenty years: Mars, Inc., National Confectioners Association, and the US Dairy Export Council.
Shawn is a licensed US Customs broker, Certified Customs Specialist, and cleared advisor to the US Trade Representative on trade issues affecting US small- and minority-businesses (immediate-past Chair, Industry Trade Advisory Committee/ITAC 9). She served two terms on the US Department of Agriculture’s Trade Advisory Committee for Processed Foods. From 2012 to 2014, Shawn sat on the board of Women in International Trade (WIIT), the premier non-partisan, professional organization in Washington, DC committed to enhancing the careers of current and aspiring professionals involved in international trade and business through education and networking.
Shawn received her Bachelor's from the University of Michigan and her MBA from the George Washington University where she was awarded the Wolcott Fellowship in International Business. She lives in Silver Spring with her husband, two children and the family’s two cats and dog.
