Congratulations are in order! TradeMoves is happy to celebrate the newest certifications of its team members, Colleen Cosey and Isabella Gabriele. Colleen recently passed the broker exam to become a licensed U.S. customs broker, and Isabella became accredited as a Certified Global Business Professional.
Our team now includes two Licensed Customs Brokers (LCB), one Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) and four Certified Global Business Professionals (CGBP):
  • Shawn Marie Jarosz, LCB, CCS, CGBP
  • Colleen Cosey, LCB, CGBP
  • Laura Heneghan, CGBP
  • Isabella Gabriele, CGBP

A Licensed Customs Broker is an individual or firm licensed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to act as an intermediary for U.S. importers and exporters when handling customs procedures involved in clearance and the importation of goods. LCBs have expertise in a full range of customs procedures, including entry procedure, admissibility requirements, tariff classification, product valuation, and the rates of duty and taxes for imported merchandise. There are currently only around 11,000 active LCBs in the United States.

A Certified Customs Specialist is an accreditation for trade professionals involved in the import industry. CCSs are experts in the most current U.S. import regulations as well as all aspects of import logistics management. CCS certification validates a person’s knowledge of new customs policies, federal administrative programs, and fast-changing international trade agreements. CCSs often train companies on how to manage imports regulations and how to apply those regulations to the company’s specific business operations.

A Certified Global Business Professional is a certification managed through the North American Small Business International Trade Educators (NASBITE). CGBP certification demonstrates a person’s ability to transact business and facilitate trade flows in a competitive, cross-border environment at a highly professional level. CGBP verifies that a person is competent in critical international trade fields including global business management, global marketing, supply chain management and trade finance.

TradeMoves encourages employees to pursue professional certifications and licenses to support the firm’s current and future clients and encourage ongoing professional development of its team. LCB, CCS, and CGBP credentials supplement the expertise provided by TradeMoves, and contribute to the knowledge base of the team yearly through continuing education and renewal.

We are proud of our team members pursuing ongoing professional development and certifications. Kudos!
