Shawn Marie Jarosz has been elected as member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Women in International Trade for a two-year term beginning 1 June 2012. In addition to its first-rate substantive programs, WIIT is recognized for its range of professional development supports. It is the only trade organization in the Washington, DC area that keeps trade professionals ahead on trade news while also expanding professional skills and opportunities. "WIIT is an important part of the DC landscape in international trade," said Shawn Marie Jarosz, President of TradeMoves LLC. "The organization is known and respected for its educational events on priority trade issues and concerns facing companies of all sizes engaged in international commerce, professional development series to help advance careers in the trade arena, and mentoring of young people interested in trade. As a woman-owned business and advocate for small businesses, it is truly an honor and privilege to join the Board of Directors of WIIT."
Shawn added, "We are halfway through the 5-year timeline of the US National Export Initiative. It is timely to join WIIT when small businesses, women-owned businesses, minority-owned businesses are critical to expanding US exports to overseas customers. I am delighted to join the other eleven members of the Board, all of whom are accomplished women and experienced trade practitioners, in helping to steer WIIT as it continues to serve its members and the trade community."
